NOTE - The first 5 rooms are before the game teaches you about torches to light and thusly are extremely dark and would be nearly impossible to provide well lit maps as the only source of light would be Daniel's candle. Extra points hang on to for now, for later use (don't worry, they won't go anywhere!) Every time you level up be sure to add the character points to your melee weapon chosen and your bow, and also to your constitution and armor.Pets killing a Crow also count as a Kill for Daniel and void the achievement. If you accidentally kill one, load a previous save. Killing crows before you are told you can, will cause a missable achievement also and an additional play through if you save afterwards. This is because some quests will REQUIRE you to kill crows. This means you will be unable to complete a couple quests as they are found and have to wait until the end to backtrack to them. Don't KILL any Crows until near the end of the game when you will be told you can finally do so. ![]() Saving after using one will result in a missable achievement and an additional partial play through If you do accidentally use one you'll have to quit and reload your last save. Therefore it is good to avoid HotKeys for potions until told to do so, so you do not accidentally use one. Don't drink ANY potions until told you can do so.If you take ANY damage from anything (traps, monsters, etc.) then quit and start a new game until you've managed to make it through. The goal will be to make it through these first 7 rooms all the way to (0,0) without taking ANY damage. If you're confident with your skills you can skip the next 7 room descriptions until (0,0). Light any torches along the main path but avoid lighting any extra ones until you make it the Gold Box then you can always backtrack later. Lighting torches will be an underlying task of the entire game. During this tutorial the game introduces you to a major mechanic of the game the Torch. Now if you struggled with your first taste of the game making it to the Gold Box then you may want to check out the maps / notes for each room. Challenge 01 - A Good Commence, so DON'T skip it. Challenge Portals are usually located by Hidden Walls. Now this is the room that has our desired Challenge Portal. If you're having difficulty avoiding them try using the to toggle zoom on / off on the fly (instantly). Even with your GAMMA settings maxed out at 100% they can still be tricky to see. Bats are the hardest enemy to visually see in the game. The first series of rooms function as a basic introduction to the game as well as an introduction to some characters & game mechanics. So let's make it easier collecting that first Sigil and starting a new game on Easy Difficulty. The other being Challenge Completions (with their respective UNpoints rewards).
